POWDER BLUE MESH JERSEY HONORING JACKIE ROBINSON'S EARLY SEASONS
History: In the early days of after-dark baseball, before stadium lights got bright enough to rival the sun, many teams experimented with making the players more visible from the grandstands — usually by tinkering with their uniforms. When Jackie Robinson joined the Brooklyn Dodgers, one of the jerseys he was issued was powder blue and made from a shiny satin material designed to reflect the light of Ebbets Field. It was a short-lived endeavor, as both the satin material and the color got phased out around 1948, but for a while there, Dodgers fans watched Jackie suit up in powder blue, and got to see the ballpark glimmer like a real diamond.
