History:Between 1953 and 1963, during what came to be known as the “Decade of Change” in baseball, six teams moved to new cities and four brand new ballclubs joined the majors.
The Twins played their first game in Minneapolis–Saint Paul in 1961 following a six-decade run in DC. They won their first game on the road in Yankee Stadium, and at home the fans welcomed them immediately, setting a franchise attendance record in their inaugural season in the twin cities.
